about me

I’m a multiplatform journalist and writer whose work currently appears on the CBC , where I report daily news and features for broadcast and web.

Previously, I produced, reported, and wrote explainers and features for CityNews Vancouver’s 24/7 streaming platform.

Before that, I covered immigration policy and diaspora communities in Canada as a freelancer. My writing has appeared in The Guardian US, the Globe and Mail and New Canadian Media, among others. My reporting has also been supported by funding, and published in the Toronto Star, as part of the Local Journalism Initiative.

I was born in Manila, Philippines, and grew up in Hong Kong, where I spent the earlier part of my career writing about food and design for magazines. I am currently based in B.C., Canada.
