About me
I’m a reporter, writer and editor based in Vancouver, B.C. My work currently appears on the CBC, where I cover a mix of general assignments and features.
Previously, I wrote and associate produced explainers and features for CityNews’ 24/7 streaming platform. I also wrote and edited video for the network’s suppertime news.
Before that, I covered immigration policy and diaspora communities in Canada as a freelancer. My writing has appeared in the Guardian US, the Globe and Mail and New Canadian Media, among others. My reporting has also been supported by funding, and published in the Toronto Star, as part of the Local Journalism Initiative.
I was born in Manila, Philippines, and grew up in Hong Kong, where I spent the earlier part of my career writing about food and design for magazines.
